Meet the Team
Dr. Shawn Naqvi is a lifelong resident of the Washington D.C. area. He attended George Mason University, Georgetown University, and Virginia Tech University locally before completing his Internal Medicine residency training in the Philadelphia area at Christiana Care Hospital. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Naqvi actively practices Internal Medicine in both the inpatient and outpatient care settings. He also participates in medical education with medical students and resident physicians. Dr. Naqvi is passionate about underserved medicine and devoting his time to directorship roles in clinical practice improvements.
Dr. Azmat Husain is an experienced physician executive having served in leadership roles in both hospital and physician practice management. He is board-certified in Emergency Medicine completing his medical training at the University of Maryland and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has served as Chairman of Emergency Medicine at Howard University Hospital, St. Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, NJ, and East Orange General Hospital in East Orange, NJ. He has also served in executive leadership roles including as a CEO for both Adult and Children Hospitals. Dr. Husain brings his clinical and administrative leadership to Personic Healthcare.
Kristen Leizear, NP is a lifelong resident of Maryland. She received her bachelor's degree from University of Maryland-College Park. Her first Masters Degree was earned at University of Maryland-Baltimore as a Clinical Nurse Leader, with her second Masters Degree earned from Chamberlain University as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked as an Emergency Room RN for seven years prior to obtaining her NP license, and has experience in Urgent Care and Urology. Kristen lives in Carroll County with her husband, four kids, dog, cats and chickens. She enjoys reading, animals and any outdoor activity or sport.
Markela Blassingame is a Nurse Practitioner at Personic Wound Care in Atlanta, Georgia. She originally attended Clemson University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science. Markela then pursued her interest in nursing, graduating with honors from Greenville Technical College with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. While working in the inpatient wound care department, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a subspecialty in Family Nurse Practitioner from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia. Markela is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and licensed in Georgia. She has primarily worked in the intensive care unit and cared for many patients who had become septic from their wounds. She has a natural love for healing wounds, and she remains steadfast in her abilities and passionate for the practice.
